Sustainability Manager, Glen Raven, Inc
Heather is a Chemical Engineer serving in the textile industry as the Sustainability Manager for Glen Raven, Inc, makers of Sunbrella fabrics. With 22 years of textile manufacturing experience, she has worked in process engineering, quality assurance, and research and development. In her current role, Heather collaborates with the Sunbrella manufacturing plants worldwide, R&D, designers, sales and marketing, supply chain partners, and customers to work through the challenges and opportunities of moving toward a more circular economy. She leads the third-party certifications for Glen Raven to communicate the sustainability and safety of Sunbrella fabrics. She is involved in many industry organizations, such as AAFA, AATCC, ACT, AHFA, BIFMA, CPA, HPDC, and NCTO, to help further regulatory, product transparency, and sustainability initiatives. She is an Authorized GreenScreen® Practitioner and is passionate about finding safer alternatives and designing circular materials.
Heather earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the West Virginia University Institute of Technology and continued on to the Institute of Textile Technology, where she earned her M.S. in Textile Technology.
