GreenScreen's Global Reach: GreenScreen Presentation at CRAC China 2024 in Partnership with REACH24H

{file:3942:url}This past September I had the honor of speaking at the 16th Chemical Regulatory Annual Conference (CRAC China 2024). This notable event, hosted by REACH24H—one of our partnering GreenScreen for Safer Chemicals profilers and GreenScreen Certified product reviewers—brought together experts, regulators, and industry leaders to discuss pivotal trends and solutions in chemical safety and regulation.

Presentation Overview

My presentation, titled “Safety Management Tools: Ensuring Safety from Chemical Substances to Products and Organizations,” provided an overview of how GreenScreen® tools support safer chemical management across products and organizations, and highlighted the role of these tools in assessing chemicals of concern, certifying environmentally preferable products, and promoting transparency and safety throughout supply chains. Attendees and Presenters

CRAC China 2024 featured a diverse group of participants, including senior government officials responsible for regulatory frameworks, prominent scientists and toxicologists sharing research advancements, and representatives from global corporations committed to sustainable practices. Industry consultants and legal experts also presented on compliance strategies, while advocacy groups and NGOs contributed perspectives on environmental health and public safety.

Key Takeaways

GreenScreen Certified Firefighting Foam: 2 Products meet Mil-Spec + Update to the Standard

GreenScreen Certified for Firefighting Foam now has two new products that meet the Department of Defense’s MilSpec standard for firefighting foam. The products are Perimeter Solutions’ Solberg 3% Mil-Spec SFFF and Solberg 3% Mil-Spec SFFF (ESP).

Also, I’m pleased to share an update to the GreenScreen Certified® Standard for Firefighting Foam. This revision, effective immediately, enhances the scope of the standard to include surrogate liquids used for testing foam proportioning systems, as defined by the NFPA Code of Standards. This adjustment is detailed in Version 2.2.1 of the standard.

Key Change Highlight:

  • Expansion of Scope: The standard now covers surrogate liquids, broadening the types of products evaluated under the certification. This expansion allows for greater product coverage and supports comprehensive safety management in firefighting applications.

These changes underscore Clean Production Action’s commitment to adapting and broadening standards to reflect industry needs and maintain rigorous safety benchmarks. The updated standard ensures that manufacturers, testers, and users of firefighting foam solutions have clear guidelines for safer product certification.

For detailed information on the revised standard, please refer to the Revision Summary and Section 2.2.7 (Scope) in the updated document. You can access the latest version of the standard on GreenScreen Certified's website here.
