Environmental Justice Manager
Kayla joined Clean Production Action as Communications and Program Coordinator in the summer of 2019. She is a graduate of Tufts University in which she earned a BA in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Sustainability, Policy, and Equity and a BA in Anthropology. Kayla brings community outreach experience from her previous internship work with the Clean Water Program of California's Consumer and Environmental Protection Agency of Santa Clara County, and the Environmental & Transportation Planning Division of Massachusetts's Community Development Department of the City of Cambridge.
Since joining the team, Kayla has played an essential role in leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and pushing for strategic and meaningful implementation of these values by the organization. Kayla is a trained Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practitioner. This, alongside her lived experience, and educational background in Anthropology, has equipped her with a strong understanding of structures and practices of race and racism. Kayla is committed to working toward a cleaner, greener, and safer environment for people of all walks of life and looks forward to building her career in environmental justice and advocacy.
